As a skilled introvert, I’m not usually the best at these about-me things, but for the sake of mild transparency, here’s a peek into my bubble.
As a full-time writer and working-mom of two middle-schoolers, free-time is something I dreamt of that one time I was actually able to sleep long enough to dream. But, when I’m not at my desk or on the sidelines of a JV sports field or in the drop-off line at school, I can be found do all things artsy: reading, writing, loving music, playing music, painting, taking pictures – you know, the usual artsy stuff.
I love traveling, road trips, camping, and anything outdoorsy. Except bugs. I really, really hate bugs. Which make up 90 percent of the outdoors, so I guess I don’t really like anything outdoorsy, after all.
Look, I’m trying here.
I’m a huge fan of all things nerdy, not limited to but including the nerd-usual: comics, Star Wars, Neil Gaiman, The Muppets, Joss Whedon, Doctor Who… You feel me.
My ultimate hero and birthday-buddy is David Bowie. My alternate heroes are Jim Henson and the guy who invented peanut butter.
I’m on a mission to simplify my life – that includes everything from drama-mamas to kitchen counter space. I’m a recovering-hoarder, so it’s a work in progress. (See a pattern yet?)
My writing is often tongue-in-cheek and heavy on sarcasm and dry humor. If you read something that makes you think I must be joking, chances are extraordinarily high that you’re right. I’m joking.
The days are long, but life is short.
