Sorry, dads. We know you’re just as good in the kitchen as any of us. It was a cheap shot. Mother’s Day is creeping up fast (isn’t everything?). And I know way too many moms who are always involved in their own Mother’s Day plans, cooking, and shopping because our partners are busy, too, and kids can’t do it themselves. But, let’s face it. It’s not really the Mother’s Day we hope for when we’re cooking or doing the dishes. So, I’m just going to write this post and if you just so happen to leave this screen open where your partner and/or kids can see it, so be it. Mother’s Day brunch doesn’t have to be something out of a Martha Stewart magazine. Seriously. Most of us are just happy to have a meal made for us and not be responsible for the clean up. Really, anything you do for mom IS nice and very much appreciated. That being said, if it’s more than a bowl of Cheerios, even better! So here are some really easy breakfast in bed ideas that our significant others and older kids can handle and help the younger kids with. Bacon & Egg Cups These are ridiculously simple and can be prepped the night before. Spray a muffin pan with nonstick spray, line each cup with a few slices of turkey bacon, crack an egg in the cup, add a dash of salt and pepper. Cover and refrigerate if making the night before. […]
There are people who have fun with their Elf on the Shelf. There are people who overdo their Elf on the Shelf. And then there are the people who want to see Elf on the Shelf burn at the stake and watch as his immortal, evil soul rises from his ashy corpse so that they can bottle it in a mason jar and bury it in the deepest, darkest cave on Earth so that it’s never heard from again. Which one are you?
Regardless of what these laugh lines on my face tell you, I was a teenage girl once. I also helped raise two teenage girls. And I am now the mother of a teenage girl. So why the hell is shopping for teen girls still so hard? It’s really difficult to find a great gift for girls as it is, but when you’re looking for a niece or a grandchild or the daughter of a friend? Even harder. I dug deep into the world of gifts that teen and tween girls want for Christmas, ranging from $10-60, so that you don’t have to.
My favorite time of year is here and…I’M STILL PREGNANT!! While I am oh so grateful this little one is still baking in my oven, I had really thought I’d be toting her in one hand and a glass of red wine in the other come Thanksgiving Day.
‘Twas the night before Thanksgiving and all through the house, not a creature was stirring… until we realized we forgot to defrost the turkey!
Wondering what you’re going to wear for Thanksgiving? If you’re like me, you have a visual of standing around the kitchen with your family, drinking martinis, looking like Grace Kelly. But if you’re also like me, you know the reality is probably something more like a mom bun and an itchy dress you forgot to have drycleaned. Honestly, thought of having to wear pants with a zipper or freakin’ pantyhose makes me want to cancel Thanksgiving all together. After minimal sleep, wrangling kids and getting them ready, cleaning, and cooking, most moms know that our appearances are the first to suffer. So, here are 12 amazing outfits from around the internet that you can use for inspiration for how to dress on Thanksgiving while being comfortable and still looking fabulous. You can also shut your leggings-aren’t-pants-swearing aunt down once and for all.

Happy Halloween! Today, I am going to share my inspiration board for tonight’s get together and tomorrow I will share pictures of the real deal! Pinterest is famous for making us all feel like entertaining goddesses who can conquer the crafting universe with one cute photo! I know that’s why I love it. But, often times I am left wondering what the hell I did differently than creativemommy.whatever because my homemade gift looks less like a mason jar full of perfectly homemade sugar scrub and more like a jar full of dirt. So, for the sake of keeping it real, tomorrow I will share with all of you my wins and misses of tonight’s Halloween extravaganza! Below is my inspiration board:
